Breeders are understandably careful about selling puppies to just anyone. Foundation of the breed has failed in America two times before this current effort. Therefore, responsible breeders are carefully choosing homes. They will not place a puppy in a home that will not have a role in the foundation or development of the breed. Though pet homes are needed, participation with promoting the breed is a MUST by everyone at this stage. So, keep in touch and have patience! It’s a tribute to our late sister/Aunt, Beverly, nicknamed “the butterfly.” Like the Kromfohrlander, her fun-loving, fluttery personality filled our hearts with joy and laughter. The Kromfohrlander breed is a source of constant amusement. They are playful, funny, and curious, with exuberant personalities and an offbeat sense of humor. Their unique traits have often left us in fits of laughter, and our friends and family have described them as the most human-like breed they have ever met. Kromis are open and honest about their emotions and perceptions. They are feisty, watchful, highly intelligent, and unwaveringly loyal when well-loved and cared for – a forever shadow by your side. The Glasswing butterfly’s see-through wings symbolize transparency, which we, as a kennel, will strive to embrace. Ilse Schleifenbaum (the breed founder) was committed to creating a quality companion breed with consistency, long life, good health, and a fine temperament. My journey with Kromfohrlanders began in 2018. Three Kromfohrlanders and an amazing 2021 litter later, I am passionate about this breed. I believe in a holistic approach to breeding. Meaning that the whole dog is considered. Conformation, health testing, and especially temperament. I DNA test all of my dogs in order to make the best genetic matches and screen for genetic problems. I am very critical about who I breed so that the puppies have a greater chance of a long & healthy life. The purchase of a puppy is a commitment by both parties and making every attempt to provide families with a happy & healthy pup is my goal. I work very hard to match the puppy to the buyers wants & lifestyle. Breeding is a passion filled with enormous responsibility. My goal is to live up to & fulfill those responsibilities. DragonFly Hollow will be breeding Knox/Leia and Tate/Emme in the spring of 2025!
